Oto Ferreira (Serrinha, 1995) is an artist, luthier, and violinist whose research focuses on the use of wood and ancestral crafts. Both in its practical and ideological dimensions, his work employs materials sourced from prunings, exchanges, and constructions, to which he restores rhythm, color, and texture. His sculptures, often combined with paintings, form abstract landscapes inspired by the everyday and by Afro-Brazilian spirituality.
His works have been included in group exhibitions such as Mais Brincar (Galeria Refresco, Rio de Janeiro, 2025), Novo Lote (Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Bahia, Salvador, 2024), A perder de vista (Galeria Isabel Pinheiro, São Paulo, 2023), Encruzilhada (MAM-BA, Salvador, 2022), Arena Ocupa IHAC (Salvador, 2019), XXIII Enearte (Anexo Casa da Pólvora, João Pessoa, 2019), 8th Salão da Escola de Belas Artes (Galeria Cañizares, Salvador, 2019), and Pintura: (Museu de Arte da Bahia, Salvador, 2019). He completed an artist residency at Domo.damo (São Paulo, 2025).
